A lateral pipe tee means a pipe fitting which is similar to a tee but has a side opening outlet branch at a 45 degree angle.It is a kind of steel pipe tee,but the branch direction is different with the straight tee.On the contrary to the lateral tee,the straight tee has a branch pipe direction of 90 degree to the run pipe.
It could be a equal tee,also could be a reducing pipe tee.When installing the lateral tee with the pipes,welders must note the flowing direction.Because to the main run pipe,the branch is 45 degree and 135 degree angle.Because of the specical shape and direction of the branch,the lateral tee are made from two pieces of pipe,and welded together .
